Understanding Frame Styles

Creators have certainly become creative, and help grow the possibilities with each of the frame styles by making the magic happen with variations. Many of you often reach out and ask us the difference in frames.  This page should help!

A STANDARD FRAME mirrors the frame style you would get from the official eyewear website.

CHUNKY FRAMES are thicker giving you more coverage.  The thickness is random and varies based on the frame.  Our CHUNKY FRAMES are most often known as THICK within the magnetic eyewear culture.

NONNA'S FRAME is exclusive to us and adds 1mm to the inner eye openings and perimeter increasing the frame style by 2mm overall, unlike the chunky frame which offers random thickness.  It's as if the STANDARD and CHUNKY frames got married and had a baby.  It's not too chunky, but offers more real estate for patterns to show overall.  This frame is PERFECT for LAYERING because it allows for a 1mm margin around your standard frame.  Because we developed this frame style, we do offer it in all styles. We developed this exclusive frame to help hide where the lens meets the frame offering full coverage.  The photo below features a side by side comparison of STANDARD, CHUNKY, & NONNA'S FRAME.

NONNA'S AVIATOR is exclusive to us and adds a very simple aviator bar to the top of your STANDARD FRAME.  The frame itself isn't changed.  It's only the aviator bar that makes it different.   The aviator bar is part of the frame and will include your material choice.  Below is  an example of our exclusive NONNA'S AVIATOR.  To VIEW all Nonna's Aviator hybrid frame styles, CLICK HERE.

HYBRIDS
completely change the style of your frame.  Two commonly found hybrids are the CATEYE (with or without keyhole) and BUTTERFLY.  These hybrids are NOT AVAILABLE for the following frame styles due to their oversized nature:  Drew compatible, Jessie Compatible, Harper compatible, Murphy compatible, and Quinn compatible.  For those crafting with our DIY toppers, the SVG files were purchased from AsYouWishCraftShop.  The example below features the CATEYE WITH Keyhole, CATEYE WITHOUT Keyhole, and BUTTERFLY hybrids

SVG File Information
:  For those of you that have a Circuit or a home crafting machine and cut your own vinyl and card stock to use on our blanks, here's a bit of information to help you!  We purchased our standard, thick (chunky), cat eye, and butterfly frame files from AsYouWishCraftsShop (Etsy).  The topper files have not been altered however we have altered the magnet wells but that shouldn't impact your cutting to craft.  Please be sure to support Christina and purchase from her.  It's important to never share or resell in an effort to support her small business!
