IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS and INFORMATION (BLANKS OR READY TO WEAR TOPPERS)
WHAT'S IN THE BOX: Our acrylic toppers arrive with shaping sticks and should be good to go. In the event they aren’t hugging, follow the instructions below. We package our ready to wear toppers individually in cellophane bags to ensure a safe journey to you! Each package includes care instructions and your packing slip for reference. Blanks are packaged in bundles of either 2 or 4.
ACRYLIC SHAPING: Leave the stick in place and hit with a hot blow dryer until warm to the touch. Allow to cool before removing stick. This step will force the topper to remain curved.
ACRYLIC BLANKS: We ship our acrylic blanks with the protection film on them. This method helps preserve the integrity of the acrylic during handling before you're ready to craft them. The film is on both the front and the back of the topper. To remove the film, simply pick at one corner and gently peel.
WOOD SHAPING: Your wood toppers shouldn't need shaping. They're light weight and flexible and will naturally hug your frames. In the event they're needing a little help, lightly spray or dab the back of your topper with water. Next set the topper between paper toweling and place a flat heavy object on top. Allow to fully dry. We've learned that our flexible wood toppers don't like shaping sticks because the wood is so soft they can lose their natural ability to curve.
WOOD BLANKS: Your wood blanks are for crafting and laser burn marks are expected. In the event you're wanting to see the wood in its natural state, you can gently sand the burn marks away. Please be mindful while sanding by holding down the topper firmly. Refrain from pushing into the topper to avoid snapping. Your wood blanks are flexible and strong, but severe bending can break them.
GLUE DOTS: For extra hold or to maintain a very tight hug to your frame, you can choose to use GLUE DOTS. Those that have larger frame styles like the Murphy, Otis, and Harper tend to use these due to the oversized frame.
NATURAL ABALONE SHELL: Your abalone topper(s) are assembled over acrylic which helps stabilize the delicate material. To maintain their curve, we suggest replacing the shaping stick while storing. Abalone availability varies due to the unique nature of the material.
MAGNETS: All toppers arrive with N52 strong hold magnets installed. We secure them with a gel glue and although they're secure, in the event you lose one, please reach out to us for a replacement.
HYBRIDS: Our hybrid collections are fun and meant to change the look of your frame style. They may add a 'cat eye' or 'butterfly' look. Hybrids may not be available in the larger frame styles due to the style being oversized to begin with.
CHUNKY: Our chunky toppers are simply thicker than your frame. There's more coverage. These are popular because they allow more pattern design to show due to the topper being thicker. At first glance you may not even realize they're chunky, but side by side you will see the difference for sure.
NONNA'S FRAME: This frame style is exclusive to LaserNonna and adds a total of 2mm to the overall frame size. The additional size hides the transition from lens to frame while increasing the real estate to enable more pattern to show. Learn more about our frame styles here.
ASSEMBLY PROCESS: All orders are custom cut. Turn around time is typically two weeks or less depending on availability of materials. When your order is placed, a packing slip is immediately printed and your order is placed in our production queue. Orders are processed in the order they are received however we do not ship partial orders which can delay your order in the event materials are pending delivery.
ADDING PRODUCTS TO AN EXISTING ORDER: Shopify does not store your credit card information. We apologize, but in the event you are wanting to add additional items to your existing order, we are unable to do so. You'll need to place a new order.
MIX AND MATCH: When placing an order for our flexible wood or acrylic DIY blanks, you can mix and match FRAME STYLE (not material). Simply place your order with your first choice, then reach out to us via email with details on which style you would like to break up, and we'll update your packing slip.
